If you have serious mobility impairment or have difficulty in using public transport, you can apply for a taxicard which provides subsidised transport in licensed London taxis and private hire vehicles. 

Who can apply

You can apply if you live in a London borough and you:

  • receive the Higher Rate Disability Living Allowance for getting around
  • have 8, 10 or 12 points for the moving around component of Personal Independence Payment (PIP)
  • receive a pensioners' mobility supplement
  • are registered blind or severely sight impaired and have a CVI certificate

You can also apply if you have a long term mobility problem preventing you from using public transport. You may need to complete a mobility assessment with an occupational therapist.

Who cannot apply

You cannot apply If you have a Non-Visible Disability or a temporary mobility condition.

How to apply 

To apply for the London Taxicard scheme, please complete the application form and return by email to cats@camden.gov.uk.  Alternatively, email us to request for an application form to be posted.

If your application is successful, you will be requested to pay £10, with the Taxicard sent to you within 14 days.

Face to face sessions

Every Tuesday the Concessionary Travel Department will be holding face to face sessions, held at the main Camden Council building 5 St Pancras Square Kings Cross, in the ground floor reception area.

During these sessions you will be able to submit an online application form, provide documents to support your application, make enquiries on an existing application.
