Knowledge Quarter 2050

Knowledge Quarter 2050 was published in May 2023 and its purpose is to help businesses, investors, developers and institutions understand how to work with Camden Council and partners to secure inclusive economic growth in the area within one mile of Kings Cross. This includes Somers Town and Bloomsbury.

The vision is that by 2050;
“we want the Knowledge Quarter to be and be known as the best place in Europe for collaboration, innovation, and research; a place that delivers inclusive opportunities for local residents, regardless of their means, to fulfil their social and economic potential within the KQ area.”

Knowledge Quarter 2050 sets out three principles and recognises the need to balance supporting economic growth and innovation with securing solutions to the social and environmental impacts of development. It is the framework for collaboration and action towards our shared vision and achieving that balance.
