- The ‘exit site’ button will open the Google search page. You will still need to delete your viewing history. It may be safer to go online at work, in a library or at the home of a trusted friend or relative.
- Call the police on 999 if you need immediate help.
- If you are not at risk of harm right now, you can call the police on 101 to discuss your situation.
- Camden Safety Net is Camden’s domestic abuse service. Contact the Camden Safety Net duty worker on 020 7974 2526, or email camdensafetynet@camden.gov.uk. Office hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.
- If it is not safe for you to stay in Camden, you can approach any council to get support.
The effect of domestic abuse on children
Children who live with abuse are also victims of the abuse and are harmed by it. This is the case regardless of whether they see, hear, or experience the abuse directly. If children don’t feel secure in their own homes, this can have a negative effect which can continue into adulthood.
It’s important to remember that what children are experiencing is not your fault. Camden Safety Net and children’s services are here to support you and the wellbeing of children.

How Camden Safety Net can support you
Camden Safety Net recognises that as a victim of abuse, you need support so that you can help to keep your children safe.
Independent Domestic and Sexual Violence Advocates will work with you and children’s services to:
- make sure that your voice is heard and understood
- help you to understand the next steps and your rights and ensure that you have the information you need
- attend any child in need or child protection meetings with you, this might be face-to-face or online
- update professionals attending meetings about the safety actions that are in place
- make sure all professionals working with the family understand the situation of domestic abuse
- make sure that plans are in place to protect your safety when attending meetings
Other organisations
