This is the improved Camden website. Tell us what you think.

Camden Town Hall refurbishment

Camden Town Hall has reopened following a 4-year refurbishment.

We’ve done all we can to make sure the building is as accessible, inclusive and sustainable as possible, and to protect the building’s history.

We'll also get our investment back and create more income by renting out space in the building.

Check the location of upcoming council meetings.

We have worked with local disability groups throughout the refurbishment process to improve access.

Sustainability

The town hall is now one of the most sustainable historic buildings in Camden with:

  • heating and cooling powered by 100% renewable sources and improved insulation – the building uses 60% less energy than before the refurbishment
  • more bicycle parking spaces
  • only Blue Badge holders will be able to park their car
  • single-use plastic banned
  • biodiversity features on the roof to support local bat and bird populations

Weddings and civil partnership ceremonies

There are three newly refurbished ceremony suites at Camden Town Hall.

Community room: Claudia Jones Room

We’ve invested in a large community room for residents, voluntary and community groups and schools to book, either at low cost or we may be able to waive the room hire fee. The room is named after civil rights and anti-racism activist Claudia Jones, who organised the first Notting Hill Carnival (originally the Caribbean Carnival) at the town hall in 1959.
